5 years…and a playlist

IMG00561

5 years ago, this guy started a crazy journey with Zo and me. So much has happened in those years. I’ve grown. He’s grown. And I’ve learned that…

Home will always be people, not places. And sometimes our journey to home is filled with stumbles and victories, but the journey is always worth it.

I’ve learned that laughter and silliness add so much to life. And that if you can find someone who brings out your inner goof, you’ve struck gold. Life doesn’t last forever, spend it laughing.

I’ve learned that families are forged, not pre-determined. You fight for family. Because family is home, and we all know that home is where we all want to be.

I’ve learned that people grow and change. Growth takes patience. And patience is normally born out of trials. Trials that will test the deepest parts of you.

I’ve learned that inside jokes keep people together. I know that sounds ridiculous, but when you let someone in, and you expose all your idiosyncrasies, you will develop your own little language. A language that no one else understands but you. And that can get you through really tough times.

I’ve learned that having enthusiasm is one of the most attractive features a person can have. To watch someone live in curiosity and to share that with them is exhilarating

Our journey has been one of the biggest adventures I’ve experienced and it’s only the beginning. So, to celebrate, here’s my version of a lovey dovey playlist. Enjoy!

August Playlist

So, August was INSANE for me. I’m assuming it’s like that for a lot of us. So, this playlist is a little bit of my “helps-me-chill-out” music and a little bit “get-me-motivated-and-in-the-groove” music. I should also mention that I’m a creative writing major, so a lot of the music I put on my playlists helps me write. Enjoy!

July Playlist – Feeling Alive

July2015

So, this month’s playlist is a modge podge of styles. July is always a rough month for me. Not really what the source is, but I can guess it has to do with how flippin’ hot it is, how uninspiring I find the summer, how much I miss my fall/winter clothing…yep, not a big fan of hot summers over here. So, to keep me feeling inspired and productive, I made this playlist. Each one of these things gives me that feeling of weightlessness or power or that I can conquer the mother-f’ing world. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to follow me on Spotify, follow the playlist here, or click the links below to support some of these great artists!

June 2015 Playlist

Music is a huge part of my life. And I am constantly searching for new tunes, so I figured, at the end of each month, I would share what I’m currently listening to. A bit of a disclaimer, I lean toward the folk, indie, acoustic types of music, but you can find just about anything everything in my music collection. This playlist is mostly ethereal (as in the words of my beautiful friend, Koki…”it sounds like sparkles and air”), acoustic, summery music. If I were sitting by a bonfire, drinking beers with friends, on a summer evening (especially after a rainstorm…I know, I’m getting ridiculously specific…LET ME HAVE MY DREAMS!), this is what I’d want to be listening to. Feel free to follow me on Spotify to keep updated on what I’m currently listening to.
